Christian Barnes is the driving force behind 4 sticks live. He began his musical career as a partner in the Kashmir Klub where he established himself as arguably one of the best booking manager in the music business. After five and a half very successful years co running the Marylebone showcase, and a split with former partner Tony Moore, Christian sought to find a new platform, a new vibe and a new voice for live music in London. Having tested the water for 18 months with acts such as Jamie Scott, Amy Winehouse and Sonna Rele, his manifestation is finally complete and 4 sticks live is now born. Christian currently stands as the most important contact in any up and coming musicians diary because he controls the volume switch for the amps of the music industry. A Liverpool fan he comes from South Wales and knows a bit more than the average man about birds. He’s also very approachable but unfortunately his jokes are awful so be warned.

Aliens from outer space and those condemned to solitary confinement can be forgiven for not knowing who Dave Dix is. To the rest, he should need no introduction. Yes, he is currently the brain and braun behind the awesome sound we now hear at the Cobden Club, and 4 sticks live front of house engineer. But the man has been writing performing and producing music for over twenty years. Perhaps the flagship item on his cv has to be the two albums he co wrote and produced for Black in the eighties including the no 1 selling It’s a Wonderful life. But this only scratches the surface of the mans achievements. Since then he has produced albums for Mark Nevin and Eddie Redder, both formally of Fairground Attraction, Alison Moyet, Annabel Lamb, Dave Sutherland and also has toured with established stars such as Mint Royal and Kiki Dee. As the chief engineer at the Kashmir Klub the likes of Ed Harcourt, Sheryl Crow, Ben and Jason and Dave Stewart have all benefited from his unique skills as an engineer. Hailing from Liverpool (like) he is a Chelsea fan and is a wealth of general knowledge. Don’t try and beat him at Trivial Pursuit but as a friendly chap he is very helpful with technical matters. For want of a better pun, he’s a sound man.

Adrian Phelan

Adrian Phelan (or that grey haired Irish guy from the Cobden, as he's largely known) is a music lover who has been stalking the live London scene for the last five years. Drawing upon memories of a sound engineering course taken at The Rock School in Dublin, he began as the 4 sticks live stage manager before going on to share and then take over compering duties. He has also thread the boards as a stand up comedian and freelanced as a music journalist for ri ra magazine. His current day job sees him work in the publications department at Diabetes UK where the environment is an invaluable step towards his goal of one day editing his own magazine. Like Christian, he too is a Liverpool fan but is a bit of a mercenary as he tends to go wherever there's a spare ticket. Outside of music he loves to watch sitcoms and goes to the cinema as often as he can. ............................................................................................
